Danny King Wins the Gold in National Bench Press
Champships.
Danny
King sends a message, heres the facts...... in the 2007 canadian
national bench press championships, Halifax, Nova Scotia April
1st. Dan King AKA DK won gold competing in the 242 lb weight class
with a 512 pound bench press on his third attempt.

The training video shows Danny putting up a 520
lb before he went. The 512 lb official lift was a new provincial

Newfoundland Provincial Sports Award Finalists
Sports NL have announced the 3 finalists for the 7 Provincial
Sports Awards for 2006. Rugby have finalists for 5 Awards which
will be presented on Saturday Mar 31.
The Rock Senior Rugby Team has been nominated for Team of the
Year, because it won the Rugby Canada Super League for the second
year in a row.They will compete with hot favorites ,the Brad Gushue
Curling Team,who won Olympic Gold medals in Turin,and with the
National Junior Softball Champions.
Rod Snow is a finalist for Male Athlete of the Year for his performances
with National Champions,The Rock ,and Canada, A highlight was
scoring Canada’s second try in the RWC Qualifier in St John’s
on August 12th 2006.
Adam Paul is a finalist for Male Junior Athlete of the Year because
of his playing contribution to the Rock,and because he was scrum
half for Canada at the u19 World Cup in Dubai.
Charlene Barter is a finalist for Senior Female Athlete of the
Year because of star performances in the Senior Women’s
National Championships and her contribution to the development
of women’s rugby in the province.
Pat Parfrey is a finalist for Coach of the Year for coaching
the Rock to it’s second consecutive National Senior men’s
Championship.
New Season, New Challenge.
The Rock’s 2007 season will be the busiest and most exciting
in their history, featuring an attempt to three-peat as national
RCSL champions,the Anglo – Canadian Challenge against English
County Champions Lancashire,and high profile games against Irish
